Understanding the science and benefits of traditional Thai massage

了解傳統泰式按摩的科學原理和益處

1. History of Traditional Massage

Massage can be said to be the first pain treatment method that humans learned from ancient times. It follows a natural process, such as rubbing and massaging a specific area of pain. This practice, accumulating experience, has evolved into a science. Traditional Thai massage, sometimes called traditional massage, dates back to the Sukhothai period, and flourished during the Ayutthaya period. It faded when modern medicine arrived in Thailand. It is now making a comeback due to the advantages of leadership: people recognizing the value of traditional methods.

2. Types of Continuous Treatment

Massage is divided according to its three main functions: massage for health, massage for disease, and massage for functional recovery. Traditional massage is also divided into two main types based on massage techniques: royal and court massage. Consider the original version of foot massage.

3. Doctors and Meridians

The touch of the lines is the same as the traditional massage, which means deep tissue massage to treat aches and pains. This technique targets specific energy pathways in the body to restore balance and promote healing.

4. Health Benefits for Treatment

Massage for health promotion can be used by everyone, especially the elderly, as it stimulates various systems in the body, promoting energy and promoting good sleep. Massage can also be used to treat chronic pain, muscle aches, back pain, neck pain, stress, and insomnia.

5. Important Considerations for Therapists

Administrators must consider compliance:

  • In patients with illness, massage is not necessary for the muscles themselves.
  • Joint and muscle pain is often prolonged, such as severe pain, swelling, redness, and heat, until the symptoms subside.
  • In patients with loose or mobile joints, such as those with rheumatoid arthritis, who do not have loose muscles, massage the affected area.
  • In patients with fractures that have not yet healed, massage may still be possible.
  • In patients with artificial joints, massage should be checked.
  • Pregnant women should avoid massage on the abdomen.
  • In those with skin-to-skin contact, massage is necessary.
  • In patients with blood clotting disorders, which can lead to subcutaneous hemorrhage or blood clots in the muscles.

6. Effective and Safe Massage Therapy

Safety depends on massage knowledge. The massage therapist's basic knowledge and diagnosis of various conditions are guided by formulas or certifications from the massage therapist's training institutions, along with their experience and expertise. The massage therapist will carefully consider the different pressures and pressures for each individual. The results of excellent massage, often referred to as traditional techniques, depend on the cleanliness of the local area and the atmosphere.

7. Massage Frequency

There is no fixed rule. Most people massage to promote health once a week or occasionally to massage several parts of the body. If symptoms of aches and pains are present, massage should be done every other day. Often, when symptoms are relieved, massage should be done at intervals. When symptoms disappear, stop massaging. Most people massage every day because they want their muscles to rest.
